I remember Faye from classroom days in Guyana She was always soft spoken and readily assisted us by sharing anything she learnt about nursing. As nursing students I recall this gentle young woman who seemed comfortable and confident in that special way. RIP Faye will always remember you

My condolences to the entire family. Faye and I started together on September 1, 1977 at the Georgetown Hospital School of Nursing. We trained and worked together in Guyana. She was caring, quiet and studious. May you find happiness in her memory even as you grieve.

We are so honored to have Faye as our neighbor, but she was more than that. In her daily life she exemplified the most important characteristics of being a nurse: Caring and Compassion. Kendrick and her raised two beautiful daughters, however she treated my son as if he was part of their family. I still remember the talk she had with him when he was going away to school. We will miss her dearly, but the memories will not fade. Faye was our neighbor, but more importantly she was a FRIEND. You will never be forgotten.🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️

My deepest condolences to her family, friends and coworkers, Dr. McPhoy was such a sweet, quiet, soft spoken soul. I had the pleasure of interacting with her while working at Kingscounty hospital. She would always approached you with a radiant smile , I can imagine her coming down the corridor with her stethoscope around her neck , asking for patient that she had needed to see .I remembered when she called me to the window and showed me her beautiful white car that was specifically designed and given to her by her children. She was looking so happy when she told me that the motorists were always honking their horns whenever they saw her car. Dr. it is sad to know that you are no longer here with us , but it was a pleasure to get to know you , may your soul rest in eternal peace.
I first met Dr. Faye McPhoy as a fellow staff nurse in Kings County Hospital. She exemplified achieving her dreams-juggling long nights of hard work, school and family life. In spite of multiple roles she exuded a very big heart- humble, loving, sacrificially giving. She’s God’s gift to me like a mentor..a sister..a mother. I relished her lovingly calling me- “My daughter..”. Her life and actions proved her words. I remember the lavish bridal and baby showers she gave me. When I think of you Faye and your family, I think of love. Now you’re engulfed in the love of our heavenly Father.

My sincere condolences to the McPhoy family. Dr. Mcphoy is patient centered, very compassionate and caring. However outside of work I must give her my flowers. When I was ill she did her research and placed me on two medications that I am currently taking over ten years. My house was upgraded because she sent me a contractor that I could trust with my life. Faye was a beautiful person inside out and her children was her life you didn’t have to meet them to know them. Faye may your soul rest in peace and your family dwell on your memories. I will always love you!

I have known Faye since 1992 when we both worked in the “G” building and then to the “R” building at Kings County Hospital. I have journaled our journey and posted it and if you have time please read about the great work of Dr. Faye McPhoy. As her husband, children, grandchildren and extended families mourn, let us celebrate her life and the enormous contributions of love, care, empathy and compassion she provided, not only to her family and patients but to society.
