She was always soft spoken and readily assisted us by sharing anything she learnt about nursing. As nursing students I recall this gentle young woman who seemed comfortable and confident in that special way. RIP Faye will always remember you.

I first met dr. faye mcPhoy as a fellow staff nurse in Kings County Hospital…
She exemplified achieving her dreams-juggling long nights of hard work, school and family life. In spite of multiple roles she exuded a very big heart- humble, loving, sacrificially giving. She’s God’s gift to me like a mentor..a sister..a mother. I relished her lovingly calling me- “My daughter..”. Her life and actions proved her words. I remember the lavish bridal and baby showers she gave me. When I think of you Faye and your family, I think of love. Now you’re engulfed in the love of our heavenly Father.

Sister Faye has been an integral part of my life for as long as I can remember.
Someone who I can always call on and be sure that she will be there. One of three best friends that I have always had the pleasure of referring to as my mom, I would forever love and miss her. To her family from mine, our hearts are with all of you during this heartbreaking time.

I have known Faye since 1992 when we both worked in the “G” building and then to the “R” building at Kings County Hospital. I have journaled our journey and posted it and if you have time please read about the great work of Dr. Faye McPhoy. As her husband, children, grandchildren and extended families mourn, let us celebrate her life and the enormous contributions of love, care, empathy and compassion she provided, not only to her family and patients but to society. She has contributed altruistically and generously. She will be regarded by her maker as a “well done! good and faithful servant. I need you to help me in heaven, Amen. May her soul rest in peace.

I knew Faye in our training hospital in Georgetown, Guyana. As a dedicated OR nurse, contact was limited between us in the wider nursing community. But she would be there at the most trying times for me. Always with a smile and a willingness that transcended her limited time. But she did it anyway.
Thank you, my friend, for being there for me at some of the most chaotic times in my life and I am certain for others too. Because that is who she was always a loving, patient, caring person full of grace. Now that her earthly work is done, she safely rests in peace and is ‘leaning on God’s everlasting arms.’

Pleasant, kind, determined, faithful, bright, compassionate and so much more. We share a profession of caring for others and a love of learning. Thank you for the talks about healthcare and also sharing the same name as my mother. Fay/Faye is not a common name and neither was you nor her. Say hello to her for me. She will know every word to every song. I will remember the way you looked at me on May 3oth, when I visited. You smiled and gave that sweet side look that was so refreshing.
